2003 California Law

New California Law for all Mind, Body, Spirit Workers:: Alternative Healthcare Disclosure Forms are Required for Coaches, Counselors, Hypnotists, NLPers, Spiritual Counselors, Pastoral Counselors, Therapists, Nutritionists, Naturopaths, Body workers, Skincare Specialists and Movement Therapists.

As of January 1, 2003, the California Business and Professions Code requires that clients of non-licensed practitioners sign a written Complimentary and Alternative Health Care form at their first visit. One copy is to be given to them and the other is to remain in your records for three years. This form is said to protect you from being cited, penalized or fined for violating the Medical Practice Act of California. Other states are considering similar legislation.

The form is attractive, positive, and professional and not only informs, but also promotes you and your services and allows you to keep records of who comes to see you.
