Benefits of Hypnosis from a client perspective

Michael K. McShane

My personal experience with hypnosis has been gleaned from the perspective of a client. I had the fortunate experience in late December 2003 to go through a 5-path regression in Los Angeles with Matt Sison. Matt is a protégé of the Steven Parkhill philosophy, and related practice. I didn’t really know anything about the program, and intentionally did not read “Answer Cancer” (as recommended) before the work began. Historically speaking, I have run a lot of my life as a follower of the likes of Houdini…an escape artist extraordinaire. I can attest to several instances that this trait had saved me from peril and been the reason I am alive to write this letter now. Since I really wanted to be successful in the experience of hypnosis I felt reading Parkhills book first, would set up a potential escape path that I could use if things got to personal.

I had been subliminally exposed to waking suggestions from my friends, David and Terri Rose throughout the summer and fall but was unaware of the subtle impact at the time. I was being told by them that I was going to be healed. Terri in particular had sized up my personal situation and recommended Matt Sison as the “Most likely to succeed” with my set of circumstances. My situation at the time was excessive drinking, drug abuse, heavy smoking, chronic health problems and an overall desire to maintain a direct course to disaster and ultimately death. This wasn’t outwardly apparent to me at the time as I was having “too much fun” to notice my proximity to the end of my life.

The Parkhill concept made sense due to the fact that one of my problems was a very recent event with cancer, and by the sound of Stephens book, seemed like a natural.

This event was my forth with cancer and I was in a desperate position to charge up my mental batteries to overcome my nemesis again. I had become very good over the last 12 years, skirting death from this lethal foe, a 5 star General in the game of deception and survival. The problem for me was that I spent all my time on the battlefield and no time getting any real healing along the way. This can work for a while, but understanding the incredible amount of energy required to survive is something only personal experience can put into perspective.

I feel that the hypnosis therapy was the most productive event I have ever experienced since it put me in touch with the biggest problem in my life and that problem was me.

The work took me back to the times and places in my past that supported what my life’s script would ultimately play out as. The events that were experienced were neither good nor bad; it was my choice to manifest them any way I chose.

The people and events of greatest significance to me were revisited as an adult and reconsidered from a different perspective. The events were replayed by my subconscious and viewed over, with the understanding that no real harm was ever intended and the participants in the events were doing the best they could at the time.

I was able to look directly into the eyes of these people at the end, and comprehend the pain that they were carrying through their life, and understood that they loved me. Once I forgave these people, the regression started to be successful.

The most intense forgiveness came as I faced myself, head on and looked me right in the eyes and forgave myself for all the painful things that I done to Michael for 44 years. We both agreed that, if you want to fail at something, pick suicide…it’s the safest thing for everybody involved.

Since that personal journey ended, the rest of my life began. I haven’t had a drink, actually sent my drugs into the sky in a homemade rocket that exploded on Christmas Eve, and quit smoking. More importantly than quitting things I started some new habits. Habits like really listening to people, going to church, expressing love, and taking care of myself. I want to take everything I was fortunate enough to learn from my work with Matt Sison, Infinity Institute and my friends Terri and David Rose and make a difference to my extended family in this world.
